From my friend Shannon :)
Your Score: Sofia Coppola Your film will be
67% romantic 31% comedy 27% complex plot and a $ 30 million budget. With few films under her belt (The Virgin Suicides, Lost In Translation, Marie Antoinette) as a writer/director, she's already highly respected and connected -- her dad, Francis, directed all The Godfather movies and Apocolypse Now. Sofia's good at making the romantic drama that is your life with poignant sullen moments of introspection. You saw how she stylishly handled Marie Antoinette's life, no? And who didn't have at least a lump in the throat at the end of Lost In Translation? She's already won one Academy Award for her writing, now she'll be the first woman to receive one for directing -- YOUR FILM!

I am really sad about Heath Ledger. Such blossom and promise. Winters can be very hard on fruits and flowers.

| Three Days ~ |
[Jan. 4th, 2008|10:35 am] |
Three days off after today. In a row. Wow. What on earth will I do with myself!?
Obama won Iowa. I am very pleased. I just truly pray we can get him into office and then pray double time that if we do, he does not disappoint. We need fresh blood so badly. We are an anemic nation at this point.

My friend anthologie posted this little news gem -
Infant Skeleton Found in Suitcase
(12-30) 12:27 PST Pittsburgh (AP) --
An infant's skeleton was found in a suitcase by adult siblings cleaning out their elderly mother's house after she died, state police said.
The siblings did not recognize the suitcase as their mother's, but said clothes found inside belonged to her, Trooper Lisa Jobe said.
The suitcase was found under a bed Saturday. The woman, who lived about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh in Hempfield Township, died earlier this month. She was in her 80s and her surviving children are in their 40s and 50s.
Police did not immediately release the dead woman's name. They hope that a forensic pathologist can determine the infant's gender and how and when the child died.
The woman's husband died about three years ago, police said. The surviving children could not give police any information about the remains or how long they may have been under the bed.
*****
It is definitely inspiring for a writer!

I had a lovely Christmas. My 98 year old grandmother (soon to be 99) presented me with her engagement ring which she wore on her finger for seventy years. It is my favorite thing in the world.

I really like the job so far. Everyone there has been super nice and I love how casual it is. Plus I think I am kind of getting the hang of the computer. There is a fucking TON of things to know, but everyone is open to questions so that is good :)

And seriously...are people laughing at her because they think her fucking stupidity is cute? Or they laughing via insanity like I am. Thank god the future of our country knows where Hungary is AND its present capital. He also knows that France is a country, and Europe is not.

I meant to post a little Happy Thanksgiving for everyone yesterday and completely forgot. And isn't that shameful? I am quite grateful for my friends here and I do hope you had a chance to spend some quality time with your loved ones and found a moment or two to reflect on your fabulous selves and the blessings that have come your way. There is so much to appreciate in a world that can sometimes make it real easy to forget the wonder and beauty that not only inhabits this earth, but outside her atmosphere and beneath our skins as well. Love to you all ~

My brother and I went to see it this afternoon. I will say that all in all what the filmmakers tried to accomplish was a valiant endeavor. ( Read more... ) |

| Keep It Down |
[Nov. 21st, 2007|01:27 pm] |
If you know what is good for you, go here - http://www.gabakulka.com/eng/news-eng.htm - and download the song Keep It Down by Konrad Kucz & Gabriela Kulka. I swear to god my brain will not allow me to stop playing it. I must have dled it awhile ago and forgot to listen to it and there it was on my WMP11. So I clicked it and I was a new woman afterwards. Not many musicians can do that for me with their music.
Gaba can :)
